This Sunday (19.03.2017), volunteer ‘soldiers’ will march from Sheffield Station via the Peace Gardens and Weston Park to arrive at the Tay Street and Oxford Street War Memorial for 11.00. They will then observe 2 minutes silence in remembrance of those fallen in war.
100 years ago many trees were planted in the area to commemorate ‘The Crookesmoore Boys’ who went off to fight for King and Country and never returned. Many of these trees are now under threat of felling.
